If Juicing Doesn't Work For You...

Hey there lovely!!

I hear ya.. you are trying to do all of the right things for your body, you've tried juicing and it doesn't seem to be working for you!  You aren't feeling the vitality you expected or you aren't losing the weight you wanted.  Perhaps a medical condition isn't healing as fast as you'd like.

Don't worry.  I sometimes hear this and I wanted to offer you some tools to help you to get the maximum benefits possible from the fruits and vegetables you consume.

1. Try blending

I do love to have a freshly cold-pressed green juice once in a while for a hit of refreshment, but more often, I blend my juice.  Blending your juice preserves the valuable fiber in the vegetable.  This is especially important if you are using fruit, as you want the fiber of the fruit to help slow down the absorption of the sugar.  If you have a high powered blender like a Blendtec (this is what I use and it's my favorite), the blended juice ends up just as smooth as a professional "juice."  If you have a regular blender, no worries.  Just blend the juice for longer to get the smooth consistency.

2. Fix Your Gut

You've heard me preach this over and over....and there's a reason I do.  If your gut isn't healthy, NOTHING is healthy.  Your immune system, your brain health, your cellular health, ALL starts in your gut.  Honestly, I've never seen anyone come into my office who has a health issue who also has a healthy gut!  Want to know the symptoms of an unhealthy gut?  Brain fog, joint aches, arthritis, thyroid disease, memory lapses, hormonal imbalance, etc.  Well Dr.Kyia, I thought the juice was supposed to help heal my gut!  Well, giving your gut a "break" from the processed foods and sugars goes a LONG way for healing your gut, but you might have to add in some "helpers" to allow that good juice to absorb and do its work.  One would be to add in a probiotic.  Probiotics are the good gut bacteria.  They help plug in the gaps and leaks, help secrete mucus and other protective substances and help break down and absorb the vitamins and minerals in the juice.  There are 2 probiotics that I like the most.  The first is called Probiophage and this is especially nice for women who have suffered from UTI's and vaginal infections as it lessens/eats up e.coli which causes problems when it overgrows.  The second is called Thrive and this is great for those who may have felt worsening of symptoms with other probiotics or who suffer from constipation and a slow digestive system.

3. Juicing?? Who has time for that?

If you're reading this knowing that you don't regularly get in your greens or green juice, then TODAY is the day to start!  It's the perfect way to get in a portion of the required pound of veggies daily.  Yep, I said a pound!  If you just don't have time to juice or blend, then you can cheat a little.  Use a green juice powder.  I've probably tried them all and honestly, I enjoy the "grassy" taste but most people DON'T.  If you want a tasty one that's really good for you, then try the Organifi Green Juice.  It really does taste the best on the market right now.

Okay, whatever you do, make it a priority to clean out your system with more vegetables and heal your gut. I hope these tips help!
